Latvia operator Baltcom is in the progress of connecting subscribers from the eight telecom companies it acquired last year to its “next generation” network. The process will be completed by the end of April.
Last year, Baltcom acquired a number of small operators, SIA Global DVA, SIA Ime Plus, SIA Latvijas Datoru Tikli, SIA Lain Net, SIA Interneta pasaule, SIA IPTV, SIA Rigas Kabelradio and SIA Rigas Radiotranslicija, who are active in Riga, Jurmala, Ogre, Salaspils, Marupe and Kekava.
Meanwhile, Baltcom has completed the deployment of its Next Generation Network (NGN) in Plavnieki and Purvciems quarters in Riga. Around 40,000 households have been covered with the network there, and around 13,000 residents in the Kengsrags will be able to access the NGN network in March.
The total coverage of the operator’s NGN network totals 160,000 households, offering triple services with internet speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
