Agora and Kino Polska TV are planning a new movie channel that will apply for a licence on Poland’s first DTT multiplex.
Wirtuale Media reported that the two companies have signed a joint shareholder agreement, but the launch of the channel itself is yet to be confirmed. Such a move would require a recapitalization of around PNZ 20 million (€4.8 million).
Kino Polska TV is one of the most popular movie channels in Poland. It has previously bid to run a channel on the DTT multiplex, but Kino Polska Nostalgia failed to gain carriage.
Four slots are up for grabs in the first multiplex with the reorganization due in 2014.
Today (Monday) is the final date for bids with the winners due to be announced in April.
