The Dutch consumer association (Consumentenbond) has launched a UPC Horizon panel to bundle all complaints about the new set-top box.
According to the organisation, customers are still experiencing a series of problems with the box, even though UPC is constantly updating the software.
The difficulties include a slow response from the set-top box, not being able to use the VOD and catch-up TV services, regular loss of internet connection. Also, many of the boxes need regular “hard resets” as the set freezes and stops responding.
The UPC Horizon panel will give consumers a platform for their concerns.
UPC, for its part, is constantly issuing new software updates to resolve the problems. There is also regular contact with the Consumentenbond and with the informal broadband users organisation Coax.
UPC and the Consumentenbond are in contact about the problems, and the intention of the panel is to track progress.
