Ukrainian cable operator Volia provided services to 1.9 million people in 29 cities of Ukraine at the end of December 2012.
The company said its share in these cities increased from 55% to 59% with regards to pay television, while its share of internet connections remained stable at around 20%.
Volia is heavily investing in HD television and now offers HD channels in 13 cities. Last year, the operator carried a special HD football channel to all its subscribers. Viewers now have access to ten HD channels on the network.
Volia said it is adding more HD channels in the future as well as adding more cities. The total offer of the cabler now is around 170 digital channels, both domestic and foreign.
The operator said that its priorities in 2013 will be investing in the development of innovative services such as interactive TV, as well as expanding its footprint by acquiring new assets to enable the company to strengthen its presence in the major regions of Ukraine.
