HBO Europe appoints production execs

February 7, 2013 10.19 Europe/London By Robert Briel

HBO Europe has made three new appointments in original programming and production.

Wayne Henry has been appointed VP, production, based in Budapest. Previously a production consultant at HBO Europe, Henry served as Executive Producer on two highly successful local versions of In Treatment in 2012 – the first season of Terapia in Hungary, and the second season of Bez Tajemnic in Poland.

Henry will be responsible for overseeing physical production throughout the region, reporting to Antony Root, EVP of Original Programming and Production. He has over 20 years of production experience in Europe and Australia with such companies as the ABC, FremantleMedia, Warner Bros and Sony Pictures Television International.

Jozsef Berger has been appointed Original Production Executive, HBO Hungary. Based in Budapest, Berger will be responsible for overseeing development and production of original production projects in Hungary. Previously a producer with his own company, Berger has extensive experience producing feature films and television programming for the Hungarian and international markets.

Anna Nagler has been appointed Development Executive at HBO Poland. Based in Warsaw, she moves from her position in script development at independent production house Akson Studio where she worked on the development and production of fiction projects for Polish broadcasters TVP, TVN and Polsat.

Commenting on the appointments, Root said: “At HBO Europe we are continuing to build our original production team at both a regional and local level. These three appointments add further creative and production strength to our group as we seek to grow our distinctive, high-quality fiction and documentary output in the region.”
