Conax and Quadrille announce push-VOD partnership

January 31, 2013 11.15 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Conax and Quadrille have announced they have teamed up to bring on the market a combined version of their respective best-selling products: Conax Contego and Quadrille’s QuadriFast Push VOD solution.

The combination of both technologies will enable broadcasters to launch Push-VOD TV services.

Quadrille’s QuadriFast is an off-the-shelf, end to end solution allowing for VOD content to be pushed over any broadcast network (satellite, terrestria). QuadriFast requires no dedicated channel to operate. It uses the existing bandwidth available on the broadcasted channels and auto-adjusts data sending accordingly. QuadriFast integrates into existing operator’s infrastructures and allows for easy and fast non-linear services deployment.

The Conax Contego portfolio of products enables protection for all valuable content and is designed to support any distribution technology and a multitude of consumer devices. It is suited both for classical DVB-S/C/T broadcasters as well as for IPTV operators and offers solutions for multiscreen and over-the-top services.

Quadrille worked closely with Conax to achieve an integration with Conax PreEncryptor for encrypting all content prior to broadcasting. In addition, cooperation between Quadrille and Cubiware, the Conax long term STB middleware partner, allow for Quadrille’s QuadriFast Push-VOD solution to be deployable either for brand new projects or for existing Conax customers willing to launch an innovative and nevertheless non- disruptive Push-VOD technology.

“Integrating Quadrille’s QuadriFast Push-VOD solutions with Conax Contego feature portfolio allows Conax and Quadrille to offer operators a highly cost-efficient solution for VOD TV, enabling the addition of new exciting services, driving ARPU growth,” said Tom Jahr, EVP products and partners, Conax.

“The combination of Quadrille’s QuadriFast technology with Conax’ PreEncryptor further guarantees a perfect premium content protection solution to the operators.”

“Partnering with a market leader like Conax is a clear differentiator to Quadrille.” said Xavier Battas, CEO of Quadrille.

“Our customers will really benefit from a turnkey solution fully protected by Conax Contego™ top-notch security system. The benefits brought by the combined Conax-CubiTV-QuadriFast solution will help broadcasters to minimize their investments, reduce their time-to-market while greatly enhancing their subscribers’ recruitment, retention and satisfaction.”

A first major operator contract is to be announced jointly in the forthcoming weeks.
