All receivers in the Nordic region will be required to support MPEG-4 under new guidelines from the regional standards body NorDig.
The new Unified IRD Specification v2.4 and Test Specification v2.2.2 finally drops MHP in favour of HbbTV as NorDig’s selected API.
Nordig has also updated video requirements and has completely updated the section on Supplementary Audio, which will become mandatory functionality from 2014
The new updated Test Specification v2.2.2 is a smaller update of previous document and includes a number of corrections and update of test cases for DVB-T2 and PVR.
NorDig specifies a common platform for Digital Television to be used within the Nordic region (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) and Éire.
