UPC Polska plans to make CAM CI+ modules available to its subscribers within a matter of months.
Quoted by Wirtualne Media, the company’s spokesperson Ewa Sadowska said it is currently undertaking tests ahead of their introduction, which has already taken place in Hungary and Romania, two other regional CEE markets.
The move comes as other UPC affiliates, such as UPC Cablecom in Switzerland, are dropping basic encryption and allowing subscribers to pull in channels direct to their TVs.
Although Multimedia Polska, Poland’s second largest cable operator, has no CI+ plans, Vectra, the number three player, is open to the idea and Inea, based in the west of the country, has provided them to its customers since last year.
