In Brief: ProSieben, Yep!, Servus TV

January 22, 2013 09.43 Europe/London By Robert Briel

German private broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 said it will launch its new thematic channel ProSieben Maxx during the fourth quarter of the year and will target “older men”. The broadcaster just launched Sat.1 Gold, which broadcasts for women between 49 and 64 years old.

Karola Bayr, formerly with Jetix and MTV Deutschland, is launching a new youth oriented free-to-view channel this summer called Yep! The channel will be aimed at kids between six and thirteen years old with a mix of cartoons and action-packed series. Distribution will be via satellite, cable and IPTV platforms. Advertising should fund the channel.

Austrian private broadcaster Servus TV, owned by Red Bull, has made its on-demand programming available on the Foxxum smart TV portal. Programmes that are broadcast on the channel are available for catch-up viewing up to seven days after the original broadcast. The Foxxum portal comes pre-installed on devices from BelSat, Hisense, Medion, Triax, Vantage and Wisi.
