Bouygues Telecom selects Jinni

January 15, 2013 08.05 Europe/London By Robert Briel

French IPTV operator Bouygues Telecom has signed an agreement to license Jinni’s content discovery solution.

The Jinni technology offers semantic search, browse by mood, and other intuitive discovery features. The service will be offered in French and includes discovery of both international and local French TV series and movies. Bouygues Telecom is the first French IPTV platorm to offer content discovery to suit users’ personal tastes and moods.

Bouygues Telecom subscribers will be able to find what to watch by plots (e.g. criminal heroes, nothing goes right, fall in love, dishonesty…), moods (e.g. feel good, suspenseful, clever, sincere…), times and periods, places, audiences, styles, and awards.

“We are proud to partner with Bouygues Telecom to bring Jinni’s personalised semantic discovery and Entertainment Genome to their impressive market,” said Jinni CEO Yosi Glick.

“France is in a prolific period of innovation and introducing revolutionary new products in TV consumption and content recommendation. Bouygues Telecom is a cutting edge telco provider that proactively looks to offer consumers the most compelling entertainment experience. This is a natural partnership between two companies at the forefront of TV experience innovation.”

“Bouygues Telecom always strives to offer its customers rich and innovative experiences. That’s why we are pleased to partner with Jinni in order to include its cutting-edge technology in our ecosystem for the benefit of our customers. Indeed, our goal is for Jinni’s avant-garde approach to enable our customers to get the most enjoyment out of our impressive content offers.” stated Thibaut Keraval, Bouygues Telecom’s responsible for Land and Mobile Service Platforms.

The Jinni technology will be first introduced with an integrated second screen tablet app.
