The Czech Republic’s Nova Group will launch a new comedy channel on December 23.
Known as Smichov, it will be available nationally and join a portfolio that already includes TV Nova, Nova Sport, Nova Cinema, Nova Sport, Fanda and the Czech/Slovak version of MTV.
Quoting Alexandra Ruzek, Nova programming director, E15 says that the company, which is owned by CME, has been working intensely on the channel for over six months in order to launch it just before Christmas.
Like Fanda, which was launched this summer and targets a male viewership, Smichov will be distributed by the country’s fourth DTT multiplex.
