Kabel Deutschland has surpassed the one million mark for HD subscriptions to private channels.
The cabler said it also has 600,000 premium subscribers.
Kabel Deutschland subscribers have free access to the HD channels from the public broadcasters – at least for the time being – but an additional subscription is required for the private broadcasters.
The private HD bouquet includes ProSieben HD, RTL HD, kabel eins HD, RTL NITRO HD, RTL II HD, Sat.1 HD, Servus TV HD, sixx HD, Sport 1 HD, SUPER RTL HD and VOX HD.
In a statement, the cabler said with this milestone it beat Astra’s DTH platform HD Plus, that counted 761,456 paying homes per October 31.
At the moment, KDG offers a total of 45 HD channels, available in various bouquets.
