Modern Times Group (MTG) has appointed Marek Singer as executive VP of its Central European Broadcasting operations, with effect from January 1, 2013.
In his new role, he will join MTG’s senior management team and assume responsibility for the group’s free-TV operations in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Hungary, as well as its pay-TV and radio operations in the Baltic Republics.
Singer has been CEO and a board member of the Czech national commercial broadcaster TV Prima, which is 50% owned by MTG.
He will continue as a board member, while the new CEO has been selected and will be announced shortly.
Anders Nilsson, who was executive VP of MTG’s Central European Broadcasting operations since October 2011 and been with the company since 1992, is leaving at the end of the year to join Millicom International Cellular S.A.
