The Russian cable operator ER Telecom now has 5 million subscribers to its TV, broadband internet and fixed line telephony services, which collectively come under the Dom.ru brand.
It took the company 15 months to secure its first million subscribers, followed by 21 months for the second million and 16 months for the third.
However, the fourth and fifth million each took only nine months.
ER Telecom employs FTTH technology to deliver its services and may shortly be offering internet access at up to 200 Mbps in one location.
The company aims to account for 20% of revenues on Russia’s broadband internet and pay-TV sectors by the end of 2014.
