YouView has launched on the Channel Islands on the JT (the combination of Jersey Telecom and Guernsey’s Wave Telecom) network. It is the first ISP not a part of YouView’s shareholders to take the PSB-telco hybrid service.
The operator is inviting customers to receive a free box with selected JT fibre and home broadband packages or to purchase for a one off price.
Barna Kutvolgyi, MD of JT’s Global Consumer business unit said: “We are delighted to introduce YouView exclusively into the Channel Islands’ market as a cost effective alternative to subscription-based TV services and as an enhancement to existing free-to-air TV”.
BT and TalkTalk have both launched YouView-based offers and the £300 set-top is also available at retail.
