FX, the UK home to popular US series including The Walking Dead and Dexter, is to take the Fox brand from the New Year.
The launch of Fox in the UK followsf recent launches and rebrands across Europe. In Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia FIC launched new Fox channels this past October, while in Greece, Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania existing channels were rebranded to Fox.
FX launched in the UK on January 12, 2004.
Jason Thorp, EVP content Europe and managing director, UK & Africa, FIC UK, said: “Fox has always been behind the spirit and success of FX. Now is the time for us to reward viewers by adding even more unmissable new content under a brand name recognised globally for delivering smart entertainment with an edge.”
The January 11 revamp will also see the channel broaden its output to include more comedy with Louie, starring Louis CK, and Men at Work, while daytimes will feature talkshow The Ricki Lake Show.
Fox content will also be added to Sky’s on demand services.
