Sky has updated its iPhone app to allow the device to be used as a remote control when both are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Similar functionality is already available on the broadcaster’s iPad app. It also allows subscribers to see the details of content stored on their Sky+ HD receiver.
C More Entertainment (C More) and Miramax have announced a licensing agreement for a package of modern classics. They will be seen by viewers of the C More premium channel and customers of its streaming service, C More Play, in the Nordic region, including Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
The Global BBC iPlayer, BBC Worldwide’s on-going pilot VOD service, has signed deals with Aardman Animations and DHX Media which will see it add to its slate of programmes for preschoolers and older kids. From Aardman Animations come the British icons Wallace & Gromit in four critically-acclaimed half-hour films – A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers (Academy Award), A Close Shave (Academy Award), and A Matter of Loaf and Death.DHX Media is the producer of the mystery-solving Rastamouse. Both deals will contribute to the recently launched CBeebies and Family catagories.
RRsat is to provide the EBU with digital media content delivery services and be their main hub between Asia and Europe for the coming years. Sports, news and special events, broadcast in both standard and high definition, will be delivered through RRsat’s teleports for the EBU Network.
