Romtelecom ended the third quarter with 1,231,077 subscribers to its TV services, or 1.9% more than a year earlier.
However, its TV revenues in Q3 were 11% higher than in the same period last year as customers migrated towards higher priced subscriptions.
Romtelecom’s fixed broadband subscriber total meanwhile stood at 1,181,447 at the end of the third quarter, 6.7% more than a year earlier, and its general financial performance also continued to improve.
While the fixed line business had revenues of €153.5 million in Q3, or 4.1% less than a year earlier, a loss of €3 million was transformed into an operating income of €17.4 million over the same period. OTE, Romtelecom’s parent company, also saw impressive take-up in its TV services.
The total number of TV subscribers in Q3 stood at 96,773, or 74.1% more than a year earlier.
Its recently launched DTH offer helped the number of TV subscribers grow by 20,000 in Q3 alone and as of early this month (November) the total figure stood at around 105,000.
