The leading Polish alternative telco Netia ended the third quarter with 72,800 subscribers to its TV services.
This was 57% more than in the same period last year but only 2% higher than three months earlier.
Although the company says it is disappointed with the latter figure, it also says that sales of smooth streaming-based TV, which is available over a wider footprint than IPTV and was introduced in June, started promisingly in the third quarter.
It also says that churn was also adversely affected by customers not extending promotional arrangements offered in Q2 and should only be a one-off impact.
Netia’s TV ARPU in Q3 amounted to PLN42 (€10.1) in Q3, unchanged on three months earlier and PLN3 higher than in the same period in 2011.
However, it lost nearly 18,000 broadband subscribers in the third quarter, the number falling to 888,700.
