TalkTalk has hired Viasat Broadcasting EVP Laurence Miall-d’Août as its director of TV ahead of the launch of its YouView service.
She will work on integrating the subscription free YouView with TalkTalk’s own TV proposition and lead the YouView partnership on behalf of the telco.
TalkTalk is planning to supplement the YouView service with thematic channels with basic pay channels including Sky Movies, ESPN, Sky 1 & 2, Sky Arts 1 & 2, MTV, Cartoon Network, National Geographic, etc. It also has an agreement with Lovefilm.
Miall-d’Août joined Viasat in April 2002 as CEO of its Central & East Europe operations. During her time in charge she launched eight thematic channels including those in the movie and sports genres.
Most recently she was EVP, business diverification.
Prior to Viasat, Miall-d’Août worked with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Agency.com.
