Russia’s MTS has strengthened its position as a leading provider of cable TV and broadband internet services through two more acquisitions.
According to the company, it has bought the companies Pilot and TVKiK, both of which operate in the Kursk region, from private investors for a combined total of R90.7 million (€2.23 million), including debt.
TVKiK claims over 95% of the cable TV market in Kurchatov and 80% in Shchigry, while Pilot is the market leader in fixed broadband internet access in Kurchatov, with a 65% market share.
MTS provides fixed line services in a total of 150 cities throughout Russia.
