Dutch cable operator Ziggo has doubled the number of streaming channels to its tablet and smart phone apps from 14 to 28. The service is only available in the subscriber’s home on up to five different devices.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has chosen Arianespace to launch the GSAT 7 and INSAT 3D satellites. The contract also includes two more launch options for ISRO, the Indian space agency. GSAT 7 is a telecommunications satellite for India; INSAT 3D a weather satellite.
French private broadcaster M6 has said it will sue the government for damages because it did not receive the ‘bonus channel’ promised by the media authority CSA. The traditional analogue broadcasters were each promised an additional channel in order to compensate for the loss of the analogue facility, but the European Commission said such a gift constituted illegal state aid.
