Claudiu Saftiou has been confirmed as the president and CEO of the Romanian public broadcaster TVR by the country’s parliament.
Speaking afterwards, Saftiou said that the main objective of TVR’s administration remains the implementation of an economic recovery programme, adopted in a resolution by its board in August.
TVR has recently closed two of its thematic channels (TVR Info, followed by TVR Cultural.
Speaking back in August, Saftiou said that TVR had accumulated debts of €145.6 million and that they would take up to seven and half years to pay off.
