With less than a month left to analogue switch off, over 200,000 homes in Lithuania are still receiving analogue terrestrial TV services.
According to the incumbent telco TEO LT, most are in rural areas and tens of thousands risk being left without digital TV services after October 29.
The take-up of digital TV has been low among the country’s remaining analogue homes, with only 20,000 installing equipment over a two-month period this summer.
Furthermore, analogue terrestrial TV services are received in nearly one-third of rural homes, compared to only 13% in cities.
TEO LT is backed by TeliaSonera and operates both DTT and IPTV platforms under the brand name Gala.
