The prospect of one of the biggest cable deals in the CEE region in years has receded with the news that the Polish cable operator Multimedia Polska is now not up for sale.
Multimedia Polska has released a statement in which it says that following an overview by J.P. Morgan of the options available to the company, its shareholders have decided to retain their investments.
Multimedia Polska vies with Vectra for the position of second largest cable operator in the country and is known to have attracted interest from UPC Polska, the market leader, which itself recently took over fourth-placed Aster.
A merger between Multimedia Polska and Vectra has also been mooted from time to time over the last few years.
