Ken Helps, CEO and co-founder of the Bristol-based Ocean Blue Software, has resigned from the company.
Entering the DVB market in the early 1990s, Helps also founded Cabot Communications, later sold to the Turkish Vestel. He established Ocean Blue in 2004 with Peter Boyt, who remains as engineering director. “It has been a great experience. I have worked on many innovative projects at OBS and have had the privilege of meeting many talented business leaders and engineers worldwide,” said Helps.
In a statement the Ocean Blue board said it would recognize the difficult economic conditions and the increasing complexity of project development. “We would like to welcome our customers and partners to the new Ocean Blue Software. Our team has years of engineering expertise in developing leading digital TV software. Our focus moving forward will be on delivering state of the art middleware for the next generation of Connected TV products.”
Ocean Blue’s software solutions support HbbTV, MHEG, DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2 and CI Plus.
