PIKE 2012 – Jachranka. Maciej Staszak, the director of the development and strategy department at Cyfrowy Polsat, has said that the digital dividend offers Poland the chance to introduce a pay-DTT package.
Speaking a panel discussion on the efficient management of the dividend, he added that it was important to offer HD services via DTT in Poland, given that there is already strong demand for them.
Janusz Kosinski, the president of the cable operator INEA, meanwhile called for local TV channels to be placed on upcoming multiplexes.
The debate on the digital dividend – or strictly speaking two dividends – in Poland is focused on the fact that they could effectively provide addition capacity equivalent of two and a half multiplexes for TV channels.
