Hungary has begun to realise the digital dividend in the 760-862 MHz frequency band in accordance with a European Union resolution.
To this effect, the regulatory authority NMHH has ordered frequency changes to 11 digital TV channels, with Antenna Hungária required to do so in October and November this year.
In each of the 11 cases, the frequency of Multiplex C will change, with changes also being made in three instances on Multiplex A.
The changes will be accompanied by the closure of the analogue M1 repeater transmitter in the city of Barcs.
Antenna Hungária operates a FTA DTT service named MinDig TV, along with its sister pay operation MinDig TV Extra.
Hungary is required by law to complete the transition to digital broadcasting by the end of 2014 but would ideally like to do so next year.
