The Polish public broadcaster TVP has discussed its plans to launch more thematic services, one of which will be a children’s channel.
Quoted by Wirtualne Media, TVP president Juliusz Braun said that the latter would seek carriage on the country’s first DTT multiplex, which will have vacant slots following the switch of TVP’s three main channels – TVP1, TVP2 and TVP Info – to the third multiplex, allocated entirely to the public broadcaster, by April 27, 2014.
TVP has also applied to the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for licences for the planned thematic services TVP Dokument and TVP Rozrywka, as well as TVP Info.
In the latter instance, this is in order to operate both regional and information channels.
TVP has a growing portfolio of thematic services that already includes TVP Kultura, TVP Sport, TV Historia, TVP Seriale and TVP Parlament.
