WATCH VIDEO YouView has begun its much-anticipated advertising campaign, bringing the virtues of the BBC-led hybrid project to a nationwide audience.
The TV commercial shows some of the UK’s most iconic television characters including Noddy, the Daleks and Downton Abbey’s grand Dowager Countess of Grantham (as portrayed by Dame Maggie Smith) projected onto the side of city buildings.
YouView, whose shareholders also include ITV, Channel 4, Five, Arqiva, BT and Talk Talk, has its terrestrial set-top box at retail for £299. BT and Talk Talk have both recently announced offers for ‘free’ set-tops, subject to terms and conditions.
