Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has added HbbTV to the satellite signals of its international channels 24 Horas and TVE Internacional.
The broadcaster launched the first HbbTV pilot in July 2011 and has since introduced service for digital terrestrial viewers including RTVE.ES A la Carta, Eurovisión and extended Olympic Games coverage.
RTVE.ES A la Carta offers no less than 70,000 programmes available on demand for people with a hybrid HbbTV capable satellite receiver connected to the internet.
The new internationally available service is made possible by cooperation between the Interactive Media division of RTVE and its Planificación Tecnológica department.
