Orange is expected to launch a DTH platform in Slovakia later this week.
According to Zive, it will offered in conjunction with Skylink, talks between Orange and Luxembourg-based M77 Group, the latter’s owners, having taken place this summer.
The new platform, known as Orange TV, will be interactive and offer the services currently provided by Orange’s FiberTV.
It will also offer Orange Sat Extra, though this will require internet access of at least 2 Mbps to receive.
Significantly, the new platform will employ set-top boxes produced by an as yet-to-be named German company rather than Sagem, which supplies FiberTV.
Slovakia is already served by the DTH platforms Skylink, CS Link, Digi TV, freeSAT and Magio Sat.
