Sky Italia has reiterated that it has no plans to buy Telecom Italia Media, the content division of the Italian telco that includes the terrestrial channel La7.
A Sky Italia spokesperson said that the company’s CEO Andrea Zappia had clarified in June that Sky’s expression of interest was limited to gaining access to Telecom Italia Media’s financial data and that it had no intention of buying the company.
Speculation that Sky Italia might be interested in such a purchase emerged earlier this week. Other media companies including Discovery Channel are also said to be interested, though the broadcasting giant Mediaset has also ruled itself out.
