Canis Media is to launch six new channels on Freeview in the Greater Manchester area in mid-October.
The channels, which will include movie and shopping channels, as well as the first Asian station to broadcast on Freeview, will be located on numbers between 50 and 60 and reach a potential 1.2 million homes.
The multiplex they will be carried on was previously used by Manchester’s Channel M, which was axed earlier this year by the Guardian Media group (GMG) after 12 years on air.
Canis Media is based in the UK and manages digital TV businesses for clients around the world. It has ben involved in over 75 channel launches in the UK alone.
