Sky and Warner Bros have entered into a comprehensive film agreement under which the two companies will collaborate on the distribution of Warner Bros’ movies across a wide range of platforms.
They will also aim to work more closely on the release and marketing of films in the UK and Ireland.
The distribution deals span the first subscription pay-TV and pay-per-view windows.
As a result, Sky will be able show Warner Bros titles on its Sky Movies channels and VOD services, as well as on a pay-per-view basis on Sky Movies Box Office and Sky Store.
This will give subscribers to Sky Movies and customers of the new internet service NOW TV exclusive access to new releases around six months after they have ended their first runs in cinemas and on excusive basis for over a year.
The full range of Warner Bros titles will be also made available to Now TV customers with the Sky Movies monthly pass.
Furthermore, customers who subscribe to Sky Movies via Virgin Media, UPC and TalkTalk will also be able to watch the full range of subscription movies.
