The Polish Office of Electronic Communication (UKE) is to undertake tests on DTT set-top boxes to ensure they meet the necessary electromagnetic compatibility and Energy related Products (ErP) criteria.
In a statement, its says that the next stage of the digitisation process in Poland will start on November 7, with ASO, which is being undertaken on a region-by-region basis, starting in the Lubuskie voivodship in the far west of the country.
However, DTT services are already available throughout the whole of Poland, with some 100 producers supplying DVB-T MPEG-4 set-top boxes.
Up to 3 million households are interested in owning DTT reception equipment, demand for which is expected to peak in the second quarter of next year.
