The US-based sports lifestyle and entertainment network Sportskool is expanding its presence to Europe.
As part of a marketing campaign, Phil Roter, who is heading up its European effort, will participate in a CTAM EuroSummit panel in Vienna later this month to discuss how new digital platforms are creating opportunities for both content owners and distributors.
Sportskool is owned by the production, distribution and media management company Grace Creek Media, and Sportskool On-Demand, its flagship channel, is available in over 36 million US homes through such leading providers as Comcast, Verizon FiOS, Time Warner Cable and Cablevision.
Aside from Sportskool On-Demand, the company operates a 24/7 linear channel and programming designed for authenticated connected devices and mobiles.
Sportskool, which besides North America is also available in Asia, should become available to viewers in Europe in Q4 this year.
It aims to develop and acquire local content in Europe.
