IBC 2012 – AMSTERDAM. The Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat has signed a new contract with Eutelsat for an additional 18 MHz of capacity in the Hot Bird video position.
As a result, the platform and its sister company Telewizja Polska now use a total of six transponders.
Commenting on the deal, Dariusz Dzialkowski, CTO of Cyfrowy Polsat, said: “New capacity at Eutelsat’s HOT BIRD video position confirms our regular growth. The development of existing services and the introduction of new products require additional resources. Having a solid and reliable partner is really important for conducting successfully long-term business.”

Cyfrowy Polsat is the leading DTH platform operator in Poland. It has over 3.5 million subscribers, around 50% of who have HD receivers, allowing them to watch 28 channels in the format.
