IBC 2012 PREVIEW – AMSTERDAM. Stands. 1.D71 and 11.F20 KIT digital is to demonstrate its new VOD store and the latest social TV solution across two stands at IBC 2012. The company is also planning to release new software updates on some of its existing products.
“Since the start of this year, we have continued to deliver major releases of our product portfolio that address the needs of our media & entertainment, network operator, and enterprise customers,” said Chief Technology Officer Mark Christie. “This week at IBC 2012 we’ll be showcasing the culmination of that engineering and development work, including two new software releases.”
KIT digital will be launching a new version of its VOD Store, a templated front-end experience for the company’s Cosmos video platform. The new VOD Store allows content owners to rapidly establish delivery workflows and revenue streams, allowing multiple endpoints to be served in a single editorial process. Alongside an improved editorial user interface, the new VOD Store supports multi-channel authoring and publishing, allowing editorial and business users to target content to different devices and geographies. It also includes full multi-lingual support including RTL languages and in-context editing allowing editorial staff to quickly modify promotions and other aspects of the user experience.
KIT digital will also be demonstrating its latest proof of concept for a revolutionary social remote control & second screen experience. The SPG is an enhanced remote control delivered via iPad, combining a sophisticated recommendation engine, content from the social web, and a traditional electronic program guide into one integrated interface. Originally debuted at NAB 2012, the new SPG supports integrated advertisement delivery across both iPad and TV screen, as well as an “ad locker,” allowing consumers to store and interact with ads after their program ends.
