The leading Russian DTH platform Tricolor TV now has 100,000 subscribers to its HD service.
Quoted by AKTR and Tass Telekom, the company says the impressive take-up – Tricolor TV Full HD was only launched this summer – is down to the attractiveness of its offer, which gives subscribers access to around 160 channels, including more than 20 in HD, for only R900 (€22.14) a year.
Tricolor TV currently accounts for around 30% of HD subscribers in Russia but expects the figure to grow to over one million, equivalent to a market share of 60-70%, by the end of the year.
