Gerry Oberst will join SES in the position of SVP, global regulatory and governmental strategy.
In this newly created position, Oberst will have responsibility for overseeing the regulatory and advocacy work of SES. He will report to John Purvis, EVP and general counsel, and will be based in Luxembourg initially and then in Washington, D.C. He will take up his new position on October 1, 2012.
Oberst brings three decades of professional experience advising the satellite communications industry and most recently was a partner in the law firm Hogan Lovells. He started his career in Washington, D.C. and moved to Brussels in 1991 to help open a new European office for the firm.
