Sky Deutschland and Sky Austria will both launch Sony Pictures Television Deutschland Networks’ AXN HD on October 4.
Crime & Investigation is launching on UPC Nederland on Septmber 4. Other new channels on UPC are Family 7, 192TV and Djazz TV. Also added are Eurosport2 HD, ARD Das Erste HD and ZDF HD, bringing the total of HD channels on the network to 38.
Belgacom TV is adding the HD versions of the two private SBS Belgium channels, Vier HD and Vijf HD. Belgacom now has five Flemish HD channels, including VRT één HD, Canvas HD and VTM HD.
German private broadcaster Vox has launched its own HbbTV service withe an extensive text service with news, sports and specials including The X Factor, as well as a wide range of videos.
Turner Classic Movies will launch an HD version in the UK on September 4. Carriage on Sky has already been secured.
