IBC 2012 PREVIEW – AMSTERDAM. ThinkAnalytics has launched two metadata libraries to integrate with its Recommendations Engine to aid intelligent navigation and personalised discovery.
The ThinkMovies and ThinkTV modules represent the largest sources of pre-tagged metadata for movies and TV and are the latest tools to help pay-TV subscribers find content outside their usual eight viewing channels by making it easy to explore integrated content in the linear EPG and VOD/OTT libraries. They enable the extraction and understanding of real meaning from the content metadata to further aid the personalisation & discovery process.
ThinkAnalytics’ Recommendations Engine has been deployed by more than 25 service providers including BSkyB, Virgin Media, ITV, and Telenet, and currently delivers intelligent navigation to more than 70 million licensed subscribers across the globe.
ThinkMovies includes over 500,000 movie titles worldwide, in over 20 languages; new content will be added at a rate of around 10,000 titles a month. Also available immediately, ThinkTV includes over 10,000 moods, tags, keywords and synonyms for regional TV shows across the globe and supports ten languages. ThinkMovies and ThinkTV provide service providers with the most comprehensive set of metadata tags available today, covering linear EPG, VOD and OTT content, as well as other connected content such as games and music.
“As the pool of content available to consumers continues its inexorable rise, service providers understand the benefit of using a Recommendations Engine that has been designed from the ground up to handle live linear TV, and not just static VOD/OTT content,” said Eddie Young, Chairman, ThinkAnalytics.
ThinkAnalytics provides recommendations that can be delivered to consumers via STB, Web, tablet, mobile, connected TV, email and other channels. The platform goes beyond generic household-wide content recommendations by offering individualised recommendations.
