The number of homes receiving DTH services in Hungary could reach one million later this year.
Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that as of this June there were already 924,361 satellite broadcasting and MMDS subscriptions, along with a further 65,012 receiving the pay-DTT service MinDig TV Extra operated by Antenna Hungária.
Digi was the leading provider of wireless broadcasting services with a market share of 38.8%, followed by T-Home (28.9%), UPC Direct (22.8%), MinDig TV Extra (6.6%) and Hello Digital (2.9%).
The total number of wired (cable and IPTV) subscriptions meanwhile stood at 1,860,059, of which 758,913 were digital.
UPC remained the leading provider of subscription services regardless of technology, with a 26.8% market share.
