Discovery may be about to change its approach to online VOD services in Poland and seek carriage for its channels on the popular ipla service.
Gazeta Wyborcza reports that this follows a visit to the country by Mark Hollinger, the president of Discovery Networks International, in which he met with leading cable operators and DTH platforms.
The particular appeal of ipla is that it now owned, through Redefine, by the DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat, which itself has 3.55 million subscribers.
Ipla currently offers viewers content mostly sourced from Polsat services.
