Poland’s competition office UOKiK has fined Canal+ Cyfrowy PLN235,266 (€57,556) for misleading consumers.
In a statement, the Office says that the company, whose activities include the provision of pay-TV channels, had a promotion in which it promised all its subscribers – amongst other things – Canal+ and HBO free of charge.
However, following an investigation, the UOKiK has concluded that the promotion did not apply to those who opted for the company’s cheapest programme package.
It adds that Canal+ Cyfrowy can challenge the ruling in court. Canal+ Cyfrowy lists in the DTH platform Cyfra+ among its interests.
