Dutch private broadcaster SBS has launched Kijk eerder (Dutch for ‘Watch before’), an on-demand service to watch upcoming episodes of new SBS programmes.
A number of new programmes from the three Dutch SBS channels, SBS6, Net 5 and Veronica, are premiered on the SBS website before the actual broadcast on the linear channels. The service is free to use, but includes advertising.
Programmes available include SBS local productions such as Villa Morero, Dokter Tinus, Achter Gesloten Deuren, Junior MasterChef, Waar Is De Mol?, The Bachelor, Veronica goes couchsurfing and Casanova Bootcamp.
Edwin Valent, creative director SBS: “Kijk eerder is one of many steps we will take during the coming months to offer our formats in a better and more innovative way to our viewers. This allows everyone view our new Dutch programming online before they shown on television.
“The coming weeks we will expand our offer even further. Kijk eerder is part of our new full media format strategy that we will ensure that viewers and fans can decide where, when and how they view our content. And this is just a small taster of what will happen from September 3.”
