Russia’s Rostelecom has signed a letter of intent to acquire Norilsk Telecom, one of the last remaining large independent telcos in the country.
Quoting unnamed sources, Vedomosti reports that the deal could be worth over R2 billion (€50.4 million).
Norilsk Telecom was established in 2004 and has been owned by KIT Finance since 2008.
However, its roots go back to a mining company that began operating in the 1930s.
Norilsk Telecom had 15,200 analogue and digital cable and around 12,000 broadband internet subscribers as of the beginning of this year.
