GMI selects httv’s HbbTV firmware

IBC 2012 PREVIEW – AMSTERDAM: Stand No 5.B26. Good Mind Industries (GMI) has selected the httv’s HbbTV firmware for its new range of set-top boxes.

The first product is a HD+ SmartTV PVR ready STB offering access to the HD channels of the HD+ Astra bouquet and protected by Nagravision advanced conditional access system. The solution is Microsoft Playready DRM certified to give access to Maxdome, the leading German VOD provider.

As a fully compliant HbbTV device, it will also give access to the new generation of HbbTV services offered by the German broadcasters such as catch-up programming from ARD and ZDF, digital text from ARD, video on demand and radio applications.

GMI, is a Taiwanese Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) and an experienced provider of satellite and terrestrial equipment. GMI has a long relationship with Singapore based SindiTV, the HD+ software market leader, recently acquired by httv. By selecting httv’s HbbTV firmware, GMI is benefiting from httv expertise on the HbbTV standard to offer a technically advanced and cost effective product.

During the IBC 2012, httv will showcase the new GMI HD+ SmartTV Set Top Box.
