The Russian cable operator Akado will extend its digital services to Yekaterinburg on September 1, followed by St Petersburg next year.
Quoted by Digit and Mediasat, the company’s spokesman said it is already operating a test service, consisting of 60 SD and 2 HD channels, in Yekaterinburg, though this would be changed to a basic, 50-channel package and five thematic packages following its full launch.
Akado, which is backed by Renova, already provides both digital cable and DTT services in Moscow and Minsk, the capital of Belarus.
